You have heard the expression, “When life hands you a lemon, make lemonade.” Well, here we are confronting the impact of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and looking for the light at the end of the tunnel. We hope that you and your family are safe and healthy and that you are following the guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to help contain the spread of this virus.
Chesapeake Windsail Cruises will follow guidelines from CDC and other health officials and government agencies, so that we can continue to provide the best services possible to our valuable customers and staff. As we approach our sailing season, we are making preparations and taking extra precautions to ensure that our sailing passengers are safe and that the boat is thoroughly cleaned and sanitized at all times.
In the past, we have washed the boat after each sailing trip. In addition, this year we will take this procedure to the next level by washing the boat inside and out with Clorox; spraying all surfaces with a disinfectant; and, sanitizing the head (bathroom) and seating area in the cockpit and down below (downstairs) before and after each outing. Hand sanitizers will be on board for use by the passengers and crew.
Thank you for being the most amazing customers that we could ever have. It is our pleasure to serve you and to provide you with beautiful sailing experiences on the Chesapeake Bay.
We hope that this lemon that life has given us will not last long. Our lemonade will be to focus on the season which is scheduled to begin on May 21, 2020. We will make a decision within the next few weeks if we have to delay the opening of the sailing cruises due to the impact of COVID-19.
Please stay safe and healthy. We’re navigating challenging times, but I know that together we will get through it all.
